Watch the countryside slip gently by on board steam train with our Sunday Countryman. During the one hour thirty minute journey, we'll service our freshly prepared three course luncheon of:

• Soup of the day with a fresh bread roll
• Roast topside of Derbyshire beef, Derbyshire puddings, roast potatoes, seasonal vegetables with a side of gravy
• Cheesecake of the day with fresh cream

Set in traditional vintage coaches, our luxury afternoon tea will certainly add something extra special to your visit.

You will be invited to board the 13:20 service from Wirksworth to Duffield where you will be greeted with a fizz and we shall begin the service of the afternoon tea. Stay on the train for the 14:15 return to Wirksworth as we continue to serve you at your seat. The tea includes a selection of freshly made sandwiches, delightful scones with jam and clotted cream, French fancies and more delightfully presented on a traditional stand at your seat. Follow up with as much tea as you can manage!

The experience includes a full day rover ticket so that guests can enjoy freedom of the line on the day and explore the local towns and villages.

Tickets are sold in pairs only and include one return journey in our dining cars for the luxury Afternoon Tea and an all day ticket each.

Points to Note

• Tickets are sold in pairs for either a table for two or compartment for two, with the option to add on an additonal couple to make a table for four or compartment for four.
• We are unable to take bookings for individual passengers at this time.
• Parties of more than four passengers will be split across tables or compartments
• Each train has the capacity to take two wheelchairs and two guests.
• Whilst we endeavour to provide a steam locomotive for your train, these grand old machines may sometimes cause us mechanical problems which will cause us to change the locomotive for a heritage diesel locomotive instead.

Selected Summer Sundays

On arrival you will be greeted by our friendly team who will guide you to your seats and provide you with a complimentary glass of Pimms and lemonade for your enjoyment. You can then sit back and relax aboard our steam train whilst we serve up a flavoursome two course traditional Ploughman's lunch followed by tea or coffee.
